These Christmas lights are humble and small, unlike those enormous Christmas decorations in shopping malls in Hong Kong. But they do remind me of the real meaning of Christmas, which has nothing to do with shopping.
Photos taken with VM 40/1.4 MC on NEX-3, with Hawk’s M-mount helicoid adapter for close focusing. It is amazing how this little camera could be used to shoot low light scenes without a tripod (all photos shot wide open) and the helicoid adapter really worked magically (personally it is a must-have for M-mount lenses on NEX bodies).
As many reviewers of the VM 40/1.4 have pointed out, it is a lens with harsh bokeh. But I do like this special characteristic.
